RULES FOR THE FERGUSON T20 and FORD FERGUSON TRACTORS
Since March 2008 The Society of Ploughmen Ltd have recognised the T20 Class and have produced standard rules for the class at all Ploughing Matches. All Clubs affiliated to The Society will receive a copy of these rules.
The Friends of Ferguson Heritage Ltd have organised the official T20 Class for the National to be held at Soham on 11 October 2009.
The original rules were formulated by the Friends of Ferguson Heritage and were first applied in their 10th Anniversary Ploughing Match in 2004.
Since March 2008 the responsibility for the implementation of the T20 Rules rests with The Society of Ploughmen Ltd and all Societies affiliated to the Society of Ploughmen must conduct matches with a Ferguson T20 Class according to these these rules.
A copy of these rules can be found on the page "T20 Rules" on this site.
The intention behind the campaign to adopt these rules nationally was to recognise the contribution Harry Ferguson made almost exclusively to tractor design in the UK and the World and to exhibit the fact that ploughing as an art can be achieved without the help of sophisticated attachments to the tractor and plough. The tractor and plough produced by Harry Ferguson were produced as one unit, not two seperate pieces of equipment. When used correctly the unit can produce general purpose ploughing that can stand up to the highest scrutiny.
